Could it be too hot for Soccer?  Seems like we were just complaining a few weeks ago that it was too cold.

One thing is constant in all this...perception of the temperature.  The mind loves to play tricks on the body based on what environment it's comfortable in.  This week it was in the low 70's at practice and it was "burning up" as one player put it.  Seems kind of comical if you put that statement in the middle of July but it goes to show that mental outlook is everything to a large degree.  Current conditions are ideal practice weather for most people but I prefer high 30's to low 50's so to each his (or her) own.

As we move to hotter weather, water breaks will be in order and requested more often I'm sure.  I can't remember the girls asking for water breaks when it was 35 degrees so maybe there's a lesson in that but that's up to sports physicians to ponder that thought.  Regardless, conditioning will be key in the latter half of the season and our mental state has to override all the nagging the body complains about and work through it.  We have to listen to the legitimate complaints from the body when an injury occurs but as with most knocks and bruises, you just have to rise above it.

Is it too hot for soccer?  As with most things, it's all relevant so let's get ready for 87 degrees with 90% humidity.  That makes me tired just thinking about it.
